For me, the best thing about where I live is just family. It’s a blessing to be around the ones you love and cherish and spend quality time with them amidst the day-to-day struggles of life. One of the biggest challenges right now I’d say is starting up my own business. Doing something of my own or even getting a good job. Times have really not been easy here for some time now and this is widely felt in the job sector.

I have tried so many things. I have adventured into a variety of business ventures like opening a barbershop, running a taxi business and recently, I secured a licence to pitch in for public contracts, so I’m hopeful for the best.

You must be familiar with the expression nothing good comes easy. Each time I embarked into a business venture and it didn’t work out as I planned, it will tear me down, but a man with responsibilities as I do will always have to find a way to rebuild and regroup, gather the strength to bounce back and keep trying.

I look up to my bosses at work. I admire them and strive to be like them without losing who I am. I am first and foremost who I am, so in order to be better, I must acknowledge and appreciate the person I am first.

I have never won so much money. When I realised I won, I couldn’t believe how much I saw on my phone. I rushed out and asked my wife to take a look. She took a good look at it but she was in total disbelief. It was unbelievable. Tears of joy ran down my face uncontrollably as I stared at my wife and friend. We could almost literally see our lives being turned around completely for the better in a heartbeat.

I have never felt this way before. It’s a blend of feelings and emotions, so rich and full of hope and assurance of a better life ahead. I’m truly and genuinely happy. The promise of a bright future instantly became palpable.

My winnings will help me complete payment for a piece of land I have been gradually paying, get myself a little car to continue the business I’m already engaged in but this time on my own terms – not working for someone else.

Living life on my terms is a great feeling. I’m not sure I know how to express how good it feels. Definitely my day-to-day life will be made so much easier. Being able to plan more conveniently not depending on external factors.

I’m going to invest in myself and a business of my choice. One which I will be able to oversee. Much better than any other venture I’ve taken up in the past. I’ve been a driver for others but this time it’ll be my own car and I’ll manage it better. A year from now, I see myself living in my house with my family and being an entrepreneur/businessman running my own business.
